I will never forget the day. I was working as the Office Manager of a private aviation company at Standiford Field <the airport> in Louisville, KY. We were getting our morning coffee, waiting to board customers on private jets and stopped in our tracks to stare at the TV screen in horror.
I had flashbacks to a wedding I attended years before in the restaurant at the top of the Trade Towers: Windows on the World. I remember staring out the windows then and seeing planes flying BELOW me we were so high up.
My sense of security was forever lost that day because it introduced me to the idea of impermanence. The images and music from the clips below always make me cry ... like our innocence got ripped from us in the blink of an eye ... feeling so helpless ... wondering what would be attacked next ... were we really so arrogant to believe we were untouchable before this happened? I know I was ...
Take a moment today and listen and watch ... and remember all the innocent lives lost due to anger and hate ...
