Then again, when does it finally sink in for us humans? You might know that you are in a rut … but when are you going to take action to get out of it? When are you going to stop letting life just happen to you? It reminds me of this quote:
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." Anais Nun
Does it really have to get so bad that we have no choice but to make changes? How much misery or indifference are we willing to endure because we can’t let go of what was? Is familiarity so comforting that is lulls us into oblivion? Are we destined to live lives of quiet desperation?
“Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them." Henry David Thoreau
It doesn’t matter how much we know if we don’t apply it!
“One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire car in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don’t know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn’t matter.” Lewis Carroll
So, right now … take some time and write down the life you want to create. Don’t come from the perspective of what you don’t want. Use your imagination and create the perfect world you want to live in. Decide what you want. What gives you joy? Who do you want to be with? How do you want to feel?
What action are you willing to take … right now to make that life happen?
