I can streamline every other area of my life, but for some reason knowing what I should do here and actually doing it is hard for me. I think it’s because I really want a cook who plans and shops and cooks scrumptious and healthy meals for me so I don’t have to think about it. At least that’s my fantasy and I’m sticking to it! So I decided to cut myself some slack and voila a thought came to me that was doable: instead of planning ahead, plan in retrospect. Why not write down what I eat each day for a month and then use that information to plan for next month? At least I would have something I could work with. This way I could look in the fridge each week before shopping and plan menus based on what needs to be used before it goes bad. Less time wasted … less food wasted … this might just work! How do you deal with the daily “what’s for dinner” issue?
I don’t know about you, but even though I know I should plan my menus in advance each week this seems to be an area where I procrastinate. This would be efficient in so many ways: using what’s in the fridge to reduce waste, saving time by going to the grocery store less often, saving gas, not hearing every day “what’s for dinner?” and going out to eat because I don’t want to think about what to make for dinner after a long day.
