In my mastermind group we do all sorts of writing about our goals and desires, and our perfect day or relationships. I went to one seminar where we were asked to write down our future accomplishments and put it in a self-addressed envelope and the seminar leader would mail it to us at the end of the year. Out of sight ... out of mind. I am sure I will be surprised when it comes in the mail ... I had actually forgotten about it until this blog post.
This would be a great vehicle to use to achieve that ... without having to waste paper and a stamp. Plus we can do it at multiple intervals ... at the end of each quarter to see if we met our goals for example. We can put our bucket list on here ... there are endless possibilities. Assuming the website is still active, we can send it 5 or 10 years down the road as well. <Being anal, I would probably save copies of the letters somewhere on my computer as well just in case the website goes the way of the dinosaur ... but that's just me.>
My daughter is an aspiring writer and summer is coming up. I think one of her summer projects will be to write a few letters to herself since she is entering high school in the fall <I can hear her groans now!>. It would be fun for her to write one about her freshman year expectations ... and another for delivery at the end of high school about what she achieved and learned. It might help her clarify what she wants for her high school experience. <Can you tell I am getting excited about this????>
So write your future self a letter and check it out. Let me know how it goes for you. http://www.futureme.org/
